OUR 74TH ANNUAL MEETING:
Altamaha
EMC members gathered at Southeastern Technical College in
Vidalia on November 3rd for the 74th Annual Meeting.
Dr. Barry Dotson, Vice President of Student Affairs for
Southeastern Technical College, gave the welcoming address to
the over 720 members in attendance.
In
his first annual meeting address as Altamaha EMC General
Manager, Romanous Dotson talked about his 36 year career
in the electric utility industry. He informed the members that
in spite of the fact that our national and state economies are
in a fragile state, all performance indicators verify that
Altamaha EMC is financially and physically sound.
Directors Randall Morris, Mike Sweat and Drexel
Braddy were each re-elected by acclamation to a three year
term on the board.
Representatives
of the “Family of Companies” were in attendance to show
their support of Altamaha EMC. Pictured L-R: (Front row) Steve

Our Manager's Message:
Words are not adequate to express my thanks to
everyone involved with this year’s annual meeting. Because this
was my first annual meeting as General Manager of Altamaha EMC,
I was extremely nervous and unsure of how the event would
unfold. I am proud to report that our 74th Annual Meeting was one
of the best ever and there are many people to thank for that
success.
First of all, thank you to each member who took the time from
their busy schedule to attend the meeting and participate in the
business of Altamaha EMC. Your attendance, kind words and
support mean more to me than you will ever know.
Secondly, I was honored to have so many representatives from our
“Family of Companies” in attendance. While most of you reading
this newsletter do not know these hardworking folks, they work
with our allied organizations to ensure that Altamaha EMC is
able deliver a safe, reliable and affordable supply of
electricity each time you flip the switch.
I want to personally thank all of the retired employees from
Altamaha EMC for attending the meeting and expressing their
support to me. I have worked with these fine folks in the years
past and having them by my side at this meeting was very
comforting.
Last, but certainly not least, thank you to every employee of
Altamaha EMC for all the hard work you put into our annual
meeting. So much planning goes into this event every year and it
is truly a team effort. It is my privilege to work with each and
every one of you. I look forward to many more annual meetings as
your General Manager.
Romanous
Dotson, General Manager
We
are all looking forward to our next annual meeting!
